Transpalpebral contact pressure profile skewness
Glaucoma results in increased intraocular pressure (IOP). IOP is now measured almost exclusively in an outpatient setup by a trained HCP. Our Digital Health partner requested a system that can be used by a patient at home on a daily basis, to close the loop between medication and symptom severity.
Circadic built a connected device, capable of sensing contact pressure profiles when pressed against a specific closed eyelid.
Circadic has created a connected device that is capable of sensing contact pressure profiles when pressed against a specific closed eyelid. The higher the IOP, the narrower the distribution. The pressure profile is modeled using Finite Element Analysis to determine the IOP. In a small pilot, where Goldman tonometry was used as a gold standard, the correlation was r=0.87.
